Fishing Pond – Fishing Optional Plan

This is an optional plan that includes a ticket for the “Managed Fishing Experience” in partnership with Hikari no Uta SIRI. Enjoy fishing in various ponds (fishing lakes) located within a vast area that takes full advantage of the natural landscape, where you can try your skills against top-condition fish. A local guide will provide instruction, making it safe and enjoyable even for first-timers. The basic fishing method is fly fishing (with catch & release as a principle).Fishing gear rental and local guide included.

Salmon Migration Viewing Tour

This is a limited seasonal tour available only during the salmon spawning season, where you can witness salmon swimming upstream at the Indian Waterwheel in Toyoura Town.The tour also includes a visit to Abuta Shrine, located on a "dragon vein", a spiritual energy line according to feng shui.
You will take a slow walk along Ryuzando (Dragon Mountain Path), which channels energy from Mt. Yotei and Lake Tōya.From the observatory, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Uchiura Bay and Mt. Komagatake.
In colder months, there are rare moments when a “white snake (White Dragon Spirit)” mysteriously appears near the shrine gate.

At the heart of Lake Toya,formed by a massive caldera eruption,you’ll find four central islands created by an eruption around 50,000 years ago. However, there’s actually a “sixth island”: a hidden underwater peak known as the "Phantom Zero Point."

At the beautiful, snow-covered lakeside, you will see cute wild birds like Long-tailed Tits, Great Tits, and Willow Tits, as well as fluffy Ezo squirrels in their winter coats. Our SIRI guide staff will lead you on a snowshoe tour of the "Waterfront Forest" in the Toya Lake Takarada area.

Art Gallery

Approximately 200 artworks—including sculptures, prints, and paintings—are displayed throughout the hotel’s public areas, such as the lobby. These pieces, created by around 30 artists primarily based in Hokkaido, are themed around the worldview of the Ainu people.
This guided tour is led by a knowledgeable staff member who will walk with you and explain the background, meaning, and stories behind each artwork and artist.
We invite you to enjoy these heartfelt works of art in a calm and quiet setting, each reflecting a deep connection to Lake Tōya and Hokkaido.

Reminders for participants

  • All programs will be conducted under natural conditions. Unlike amusement parks where everything is safely maintained, there is a potential risk of putting yourselves in danger in the changing environment of nature. For your safety, please follow the instructions given in the 'SAFETY TALK' (an explanation of safety precautions and precautions regarding field usage given at the beginning of the program), as well as any instructions and judgments given by the guide.
  • Although you are participating in a program, please note that it is a basic principle of outdoor activities that you look out for your own safety. Also, please be aware that in nature, there is always the possibility that unexpected situations will arise. Please be fully aware of and responsible for your own actions while participating in the programs.
  • Please participate in the program with appropriate clothing and items.
  • We have some waterproof windbreaker jackets and pants available, but please request them in advance, as the number and sizes are limited.
  • If necessary, please bring any personal prescription medications, asthma inhalers, epi-pens, etc.
  • Please feel free to inquire beforehand regarding anything you feel anxious or unclear about.
  • The course, destination, or content of programs may change for safety purposes, depending on the weather and environmental conditions on that day. Also, even after the program has started, guides may decide to change course or cancel the program in case of sudden changes in weather, etc. Nevertheless, fees are generally non-refundable once the program has begun. In the case of bad weather, the program may be canceled on the day of, at the guide's discretion. We kindly ask for your understanding.
  • Please call and check with us if you feel uncertain about the weather on the day you plan to participate in a program.
  • Persons who have consumed alcohol, who have a hangover, or who are ill, or unwilling to cooperate in matters of safety will not be allowed to participate in the program.
  • We kindly ask that children be accompanied by their guardians when participating in the program.
  • During the program, we may take photographs of the actual program with participants in the frame, and use those photos on websites, blogs, Facebook pages, brochures, travel magazines, newspaper advertisements, etc. If you do not wish for the photographs to be used, please notify us beforehand.
  • On the day of the program, we kindly ask you to fill in and sign a participation application form, which includes a disclaimer about safety.

Regarding insurance

  • We maintain accident insurance to be prepared in the event of an accident. Although we give full consideration to safety, we recommend that all participants apply for accident insurance.
